About Us
Twenty years ago, I was a sleep-deprived university student with an obsession for collectible designer toys.
Bearbricks. KAWS. Michael Lau figures. To me, these "toys" were art in the most contemporary sense. As my passion grew, so did my private collection. But my craving didn't stop there — it led to the launch of my first online designer toy shop.

I named my "dream" business MOPIKU. Operating the shop was filled with a long list of unexpected responsibilities: late-night packing, early post office drop-offs, hunting for limited-edition pieces I couldn’t afford... The business lasted only a year. As a student in her graduating year, the workload was simply too chaotic to handle.
My dream was on hold... but the love never left.
Two decades later, I'm now a mom who enjoys cooking — and eating — good food. I'm fortunate to have a daughter who appreciates culinary skills and has a palate to match. Besides being a family of foodies, we also geek out over tiny things that spark big joy: mini food toys, cute stationery, and all the adorable oddities that bring comfort, creativity, and that fuzzy feeling of nostalgia.
Which brings me to a family trip.

In March 2025, my husband and I took our daughter on a journey to rediscover our birthplace, Hong Kong, and our inspiration, Tokyo. What started as a foodie adventure for the whole family evolved into something much bigger.
We saw never-ending shelves of miniature sushi and gashapon machines on every corner in Tokyo. And it was practically blind box heaven in Hong Kong. The design, the craftsmanship, the playfulness... Creativity filled the streets. But it was the nostalgia that spoke to my heart. I'd experienced this feeling before. My obsession. My passion. It dawned on me: I'm still that wide-eyed university student with a love for collectible designer toys.
I returned to Canada inspired and determined. By April, I had registered my new business. By May, the first packages from Japan arrived. And in June, Mini Loko was born. My dream is back.
The name "Mini Loko" plays with the idea of merging twos together: Design and food. Artistry and playfulness. Lo and Ko — the surnames of me and my husband. Together, they remind us of our daughter, as well as that kid inside all of us who finds joy in handcrafted miniature plates and inedible centimeter-small pancakes.
To the appreciators of bite-size collectibles... Welcome to your dream store.
